A lucky find on eBay got me two amazing French fashion publications. I will not tell you how much I got them for but believe me they were very good value! Today I will share the April 1951 edition with you. I wish I could read French so I could enjoy the words as well as the pictures, but wow the line drawings are beautiful.
Summer is at the forefront of my mind (having only just really begun in earnest here in the UK), so the front cover of the April 1951 publication is truly mouth watering! If I could get that blue and white checked dress I would be a happy lady indeed.
The fashion magazines still hold the essentials that modern magazines do too, with horoscopes and adverts filling the gaps!
The dresses images are gorgeous, the magazine was published as the New Look was really taking off and getting into full swing so the fashion is just amazing. These sorts of original fashion magazine are a perfect resource for inspiration on what to wear for a vintage look, or if you are a dressmaker they can really help with details you could add to your creations.
And for regular blog readers you will be aware of my slight obsession with vintage aprons.... so the back cover really did it for me!

There is not one thing about this post that I did not love!!!
