Odd as this may sound, I have a soft spot in my heart for woolly mammoths. The reason (aside from their general awesomeness) is that my maternal grandma hails from the Yukon and has (or, I should say, had, until some, or maybe all, of them were taken in a B&E several years ago) some jewelry that was made with mammoth tusk (back when using tusks for such purposes was allowed). I adored looking at it as a youngster and imagining what the grade, powerful beasts that it had once came from would have been like in real life.
Brilliant! Who doesn't love a woolly mammoth? And what place more appropriate for one than on a vintage blog ;-) This one was in a Victorian museum in Ipswich where it had loads of stuffed animals displays (it was very old school and a bit creepy but quite cool!) x
