Liz Cardy from Easy Tiger Vintage arranges this fabulous event which is fast becoming part of the vintage scene in Colchester. Liz says: "Having visited Norwich and chancing upon a great handmade market there called Clutter City, I thought Colchester would really benefit from a similar event. It gives local vintage traders and craftspeople somewhere to sell and showcase they're wares."
With a variety of local vintage sellers including ourselves at Lesley's Girls Vintage, Revolver, Easy Tiger Vintage, MaryLu, Divine Intervintage and What's Your Tale Nightingale?; as well as an amazing selection of handmade items from prints to jewellery- there really is something for everyone's taste and budget at Junk Jamboree! Liz is trying to offer a welcome alternative to the more mainstream High Street stores- where you could grab a bargain, enjoy some live music and have lunch (tea rooms are provided by Emma from The Pink Vintage Tea Caddy, with hot and cold food including bacon butties, veggie hotdogs and and her famous cupcakes- I'm already hungry!)
Jenny from Betty's Rock and Rollers will also be in attendance, recreating hair and make up from different eras for customers- may have to book myself an appointment!
A small entry fee of £1, (under 16s free)- the entry proceeds go to Clarks Farm Greyhounds a re-homing centre in Little Totham near Maldon. With previous Junk Jamboree's over £700 has been raised for Clarks Farm.
We are really looking forward to it (especially as we will be indoors this time and there is less chance of frostbite!) and have already got some new display items ready for the event and our stall will be looking a bit different from the last couple.
How wonderfully exciting! I hope this event goes swimmingly for you!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I just have to mention how much I adore the pin-up style Mrs. Claus outfit the gal on that poster is wear. Soooo cute!

Yes I'd love a Mama Xmas outfit too. Hmmm...maybe I'll try to make one. It's her boots that make the outfit I think!
