Bar Friday

We're back to that time of the week again- it's Bar Friday!  This week it's a winter warmer as it is getting cold out and about.  Enjoy a little tipple this evening to warm yourself up.

Apple and Ginger Hot Toddy
6 oz ginger infused apple cider (apple cider and thumb of ginger)
1 teaspoon of honey
2 oz bourbon
a slice of lemon
thin slice of fresh ginger

To ginger infuse the cider, p
eel and chop the ginger. Bring apple cider to a boil in a pot. Add a thumb of sliced and peeled ginger once the cider is boiling. Turn heat off and allow to steep for approximately 30 minutes. Then blend in a blender and strain.

Heat the ginger-infused cider (do not boil) and then add bourbon. Stir in honey. Pour into a desired glass or mug. Garnish with lemon and ginger slice.

  1. Its funny, but (even though I'm Scottish) I dislike whisky. But, when I am unwell with a cold or flu, I love it when my husband makes me a toddy with whisky. This sounds delicious!
