1930s House

We recently visited Sutton Hoo in Woodbridge, we expected a lot of Viking and Anglo Saxon history, what we hadn't expected was to stumble across was the gorgeous 1930s house in the grounds.
It is well worth a visit if you are in the area, and even more so if you happen to have National Trust membership as it is then free of charge to enter.  What is wonderful about the house is that it has been been beautifully preserved and rather than usual museum venues you are able to touch, sit on, handle or use almost everything within the building- from games in the drawing rooms to the tea piano in the library.

Here are some of our highlights of the house- it has also inspired us to get some of our 1930s evening dresses and day wear steamed and listed on the Etsy shop, so keep your eyes on the shop if these images have inspired you to recreate a 1930s lifestyle!

As always with huge thanks to SJR Photography for the images.
